For every game developer who has shipped a game with a bug nobody found out about - this one’s for you.

Ahhh, retakes… If you have been following this blog for a while, you should know that retakes are the bane of my existence. You’d be amazed at the number of technical retakes (mistakes in the animation) we have to fix in the average episode. We catch the vast majority of them, but some inevitably get through. Like this one. Ouch. Everything about retakes and the retake process hurts my soul.

Not that we ever claimed to be, but we are not perfect, and the show is not perfect. With an average of 14,500 finished drawings per show, and 12-26 shows in production at the same time, a few mistakes are bound to make it past the bleary eyes of the hard working animators and us at Nickelodeon. And many times it is just too late in the process to do anything about it, or the energy of the crew is needed to put out a bigger fire.

And with you guys dissecting this HD footage/GIF fodder frame by frame, our butts are even more exposed. We’re trying to figure out a way to get you guys to call the retakes for us, since you seem to have the time, energy, and interest to comb through everything. You guys won’t leak anything, right?

Sometimes goblin archers survive long enough to be awarded a promotion and a helmet. These few goblins are the sturdy Archer-Elite! Being able to take more punishment and aim slightly better make these elite gobbos able to deal some serious structural damage to your platforms. So take a little more time to train your guns onto these assailing archers, your turtle will thank you for it!

It’s that poorly paid peasant archer equipped with low quality arrows and a lousy constitution. Goblin peasants are given the worst bows their armies can find and trained through a poorly worded pamphlet that is balloon dropped on them minutes before the enemy arrives. This shoddy training system combined with the awful diet of an average goblin peasant makes them easy targets for any trampling turtle!

If I were an indie comic girl instead of an indie game guy, I’m pretty sure I’d be a lot like faitherinhicks

I’ve done a lot of other comics for Tor, including one on Alien, A Wrinkle in Time and The Hunger Games (and the Hunger Games movie).

I mean it when I say Avatar:TLA is the best animated show of the past 30 years. It is truly spectacular, and as a former animator turned comic maker, I’m really happy certain creators were able to make it happen. Go you guys!

Hey guys…….. Sorry this is so late….. I drew this up on my ipad last night but fell asleep before I could post it…… Sorry it’s so off model. I still have kind of a hard time drawing on that thing….. Although it’s becoming more comfortable.
